Seasonal Patio on Municipal Property and/or a Temporary Extension of a Liquor Licence Application

Our patio program is for individuals who wish to have an outdoor patio for their business on public property, as well as the temporary extension of licensed establishments.

Please note applicants are to submit their request with supporting documentation no less than 30 business days before requiring a response from the Clerk. Staff will do their best to accommodate late submissions, however a rush response is not guaranteed.

Do you have a liquor license?
Will your temporary patio be located on municipal property? (ex. sidewalk/road allowance)

Combined indoor & outdoor dining capacity of all patios must not exceed the capacity permitted for the establishment’s washrooms as determined by the Ontario Building Code (for more information contact the building department Please be advised that outdoor patios will not be approved in circumstances where there are no washrooms available by the establishment for use by restaurant patrons.

Is the construction of a platform/deck or use of a tent or awning part of the application?
I am aware that at the end of each business day, the owner/operator is required to clean the sidewalk in and around the outdoor patio area and remove debris. Garbage cannot be placed in Municipal waste receptacles
I am aware that all approved outdoor patios, including patio furniture, are permitted for use on May 1st and shall be removed on or before November 15th of each year unless otherwise permitted by the Municipality

A legible sketch/site plan of the proposed outdoor patio must be submitted. The sketch/site plan must include the information outlined in section 4 of the Patio Guide

I am aware that I must adhere to the Municipal Noise By-Law
I declare that I have read, understood, and will abide by all permit requirements and relevant by-laws
I agree to  adhere to all public health and workplace safety requirements and restrictions as set out by the Province of Ontario and Huron Perth Public Health

Submissions will be reviewed by staff to ensure compliance with the guidelines. Should the applicant be denied approval/permits, they will be notified in writing with particulars for the refusal. The application may be reconsidered at a subsequent occasion upon the applicant addressing, to the satisfaction of the Municipality, the reasons given for the initial denial of the application. 

I am aware that submission of the application and required documentation does not guarantee approval of the outdoor patio permit or temporary extension of liquor licence.
